5 Reason To Be Thankful – 2019

Bible Verses for emotions/situations

Near the holiday seasons, everyone is always sharing what they are thankful for. For some, this can be hard. When we go through a rough season, it’s sometimes hard to come up with things that we are thankful for. Maybe we just have lost a family member, got fired from a job, just became homeless; the list is endless. Life is unpredictable; however, we always have consistent things to be thankful for. No matter where you are at in life, God has given us many reasons to be thankful. As you read these 5 reasons, remind yourself of these daily. Don’t let the worlds negativity effect you from being positive and thankful.

5 Reasons to be Thankful:

1) Jesus died for your sins!

Jesus willfully suffered immensely so you could live. For absolutely nothing in return, Jesus gave His life for us. That is true love. It is the ultimate sacrifice. It is because to Him, you were worth it. That alone is a major reason to be thankful.

Romans 5:6-11
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

2) You are NEVER alone!

As a believer, you will never go through hard times alone. God promises us that He is always with us. When we feel alone it is important that we turn to God and His people. When doing this we will learn that we are never alone. If you want to read more about never being alone READ THIS!

Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”

John 14:16-18
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

3) God gives us hope!

We all need hope and through God we receive hope. “Hope is one of the Theological virtues. This means that a continual looking forward to the eternal world is not (as some modern people think) a form of escapism or wishful thinking, but one of the things a Christian is meant to do. It does not mean that we are to leave the present world as it is. If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next.” – C.S. Lewis

Psalm 119:114
You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.

Psalm 31:24
Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.

Micah 7:7
But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me.

4) God promises everlasting life!

Eternal life is free. As long as we believe in God and believe that He sent down His Son to die for our sins; we will have everlasting life. Ask for forgiveness, it will be something you are always thankful for.

1 Peter 5:10
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

John 10:28-30
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 John 5:11
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

5) You are heard!

Even if you don’t have anyone here on earth, you have God. No matter where you are, God will hear you.

1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

John 9:31
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

Matthew 21:22
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Psalm 66:17-20
I cried to him with my mouth, and high praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!
